But by the time the 1950s rolled around, they were disappearing from towns and cities around the state at an alarming rate. That's precisely why the Pioneer Texas Heritage Committee and the Tarrant County Historical Society decided to preserve the Log Cabin Village.

Now serving as a living museum, Log Cabin Village was once home to a handful of families. Its six log houses, all erected in the 1800s, have been moved from their original location in North Texas and situated atop a site right in Fort Worth. Another log cabin, a vintage schoolhouse, and a smokehouse have since been added to the village. Each building contains actual artifacts that give visitors a glimpse inside the way people lived in these homes, capturing a snapshot of Texan life long before Fort Worth was the bustling metropolis it is today.

Do Breakfast at Yogi’s Deli and Grill Any Day Thu, 07 Apr 2016 18:00:54 +0000 Named for owner Yogi Florsheim, Yogi's Deli and Grill has been keeping Fort Worth diners in classic breakfast grub since June of 1997. Over its nearly two decades in business, Yogi's has earned a reputation as a welcoming spot, perhaps due to the vintage records and TCU jerseys on the walls (Yogi is a big TCU fan).

Perhaps the most popular time to visit Yogi's is Sunday morning, but you can come by any day of the week for breakfast or lunch. You don't have to choose between sweet and savory because Yogi's offers many options in both categories. Satisfy your sweet tooth with three slices of sourdough French toast loaded with strawberries and bananas or a pair of multigrain pancakes flecked with chocolate chips. On the savory side of the menu, there are options such as omelets and Benedicts, which you can get with some of the popular home fries on the side.
