Woodshed Smokehouse near Villas of Oak Hill Apartments: Classic and Not-So-Classic Barbecue in Fort Worth

Chef Tim Love requires a smokehouse nearby in order to craft his locally famous barbecue. That's why aptly named Woodshed Smokehouse, the Fort Worth eatery he heads up, boasts a smokehouse right on the property. It's located on the edge of the lot, so you can't actually smell the sweet smoky aroma in the dining room, but you can taste it in every bite.

Make the quick drive from Villas of Oak Hill Apartments to Woodshed Smokehouse for a taste of the classic and not-so-classic barbecue fare. The bulgogi beef tacos stray a bit from barbecue tradition, but they're still a favorite among regulars. So is the more familiar Butcher's sandwich, stuffed with pulled pork and brisket. You might also want to try the pork ribs, along with a side of coleslaw. Bring your pup along to enjoy the patio, which overlooks the Trinity River, and something from the dog-friendly menu (think peanut butter bones).
